On Sunday the 7th of July the ladies from Sea Together Magazine crossed the country and rolled down the driveway to The U&I Torquay Studio in their van to co-host the evenings Sunday Session as part of their Australian launch tour.
It was an evening full of events, local lady-logger and activist Belinda Baggs hosted a panel talk on Women managing business & creative projects. In the panel you could find Brianna behind Sea Together Magazine, Angela King, mumma & Co.owner of South Coast Surfboards and yours truly Emma Bäcklund and Jodie Hayes behind U&I Label.
As part of the night, we (Em & Jodie) had put on a combined Photography & Art show and announced the release of our first apparel collection launching later this summer.
The ladies behind the bar in our in-house café The Monkey´s Uncle kept us "hydrated" and the Pauline Rotsaert behind the DJ booth made us all feel at home. A special thank you to the boys for showing up and showing the support of Women´s Surf Culture!
We’re already looking forward to the next event!!
Xx, Em & Jodie
"The second stop of the Sea Together Australia Tour was at The U&I Studio, with a myriad of the stoked Torquay community. The inspiring surf community that Emma & Jodie from U&I Label and Angela King from South Coast Surfboards have brought together gave us hope that we can all come together to support women’s surfing. Thanks to Belinda Baggs for facilitating our panel on Women Surfers in Creative Projects/Business with Emma & Jodie from U&I Label, Angela King from South Coast Surfboards and Brianna, Founder and Director of Sea Together Magazine. To top it off, we were serenaded by Jodie Hayes’s beautiful artworks and and photography by the talented surf photographer Emma Bäcklund. We definitely want to come back to Torquay! Check out the photos below to spot you or your friends." - Sea Together
